Mabuza family accepts ANC’s apology for handling of former deputy president's death announcement

BARBERTON - The family of the late former deputy president David Mabuza has accepted the African National Congress’s (ANC) apology for the manner in which it announced the former deputy president’s passing.
Some family members expressed their disappointment in the party on Thursday, saying they learned about Mabuza’s passing on social media.

ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula, however, maintains that he followed ANC protocol when he announced Mabuza’s passing on his personal X account.
Family spokesperson Desmond Moel said, "The family has actually accepted the apology from the chairperson of the anc in Mpumalanga. He indicated that he apologises for having conveyed the message through social media and all that."
