Hlabisa thanks IFP supporters for backing the party during 2024 general elections

JOHANNESBURG - Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Velenkosini Hlabisa has thanked the party’s supporters for throwing their weight behind the organisation at the 2024 general elections.

Hlabisa was speaking at the party’s provincial council meeting in Johannesburg where he reflected on the IFP’s work in government.

Last year’s elections saw the political party being appointed to the executive, with its members serving in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet.

Hlabisa said the organisation would have never stepped foot at the Union Buildings if it wasn't for its voters.

"We requested the voters to make the IFP be part of the national cabinet of the government of South Africa, where policy decisions are made. It would be therefore amiss for me not to thank you. We thank you people of Gauteng."
