3 suspects nabbed in Khayelitsha after breaking into house

CAPE TOWN - Police have arrested three suspects following a tip-off about a group of people breaking into houses in Makhaza, in Khayelitsha.

The arrests were made by members of the Makhaza Hijacking Team on Wednesday.

It was reported that the suspects were driving a silver Toyota Starlet on their robbing spree.

The police's Wesley Twigg: "The vehicle was spotted in Qala Close, Makhaza, where the suspects were busy loading household goods in the vehicle. The members stopped the vehicle as it was moving away from the address. A refrigerator, a cooker hood, a television set, a sound bar, a cellular telephone, remote controls and an imitation firearm with blank rounds were found inside the vehicle."

The suspects are expected to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court on Friday.
